Restored by C Blake & Sons, Loxley, Warwick as a replica of one of the fleet of Bedford lorries used for collection of milk in churns from local farms for delivery to local dairies over a period of many years I the forties and fifties prior to the advent of bulk milk tankers.
This petrol engine lorry was acquired by Blakes in 1978 from the family of the composer the late Sir Adrian Beecham of Compton Scorpion, Shipston-on-Stour, Warwickshire.
It was originally bodied as a horse box and has a KE Kent registration mark. It was then acquired by Mr Brooker from Mr Blake in November 2001.
The ubiquitous Bedfod OL Series served as flat beds, tippers, tankers, arctic units, removal vans, fire engines, buses and numerous other fields as a reliable workhorse from the late forties until the advent of the TK model in the late sixties.
